You've been named executor
You're grieving and have no idea where to start
You're grieving and have no idea where to start
The average estate takes 9 to 18 months to settle — and the executor puts in an average of 900 hours of work to get there. That is on top of a full-time job. On top of raising children or caring for aging parents. On top of grief.
No one warns you about that when they ask you to sign on as executor.
If any of this sounds familiar, EstateMindr was built for you:
• You've been named executor or trustee and don't know where to begin
• You're juggling the estate on top of work, family, and everything else
• You're afraid of missing a deadline, a filing, or something critical
• You feel like you're drowning in paperwork and decisions
• Your loved one is still living, and you want to start preparing now
You don't have to figure this out alone.
I've been exactly where you are
My name is Jean-Marie Milford. I hold a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration, and I spent my career in one of the most heavily regulated, compliance-driven industries in the United States — working alongside legal teams, managing sensitive information, and navigating complex administrative environments where precision was not optional.
Those same standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and care are what I bring to every estate I work with. Your family's circumstances and your loved one's affairs are handled with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
When my mother passed, I became her executor. I was working. I had no roadmap and a growing mountain of tasks that never seemed to shrink — even with decades of administrative experience behind me.
I spent months coordinating between family members, attorneys, accountants, financial institutions, insurance companies, and service providers. Managing paperwork, deadlines, notifications, and one unexpected requirement after another. It was one of the most emotionally and mentally exhausting experiences of my life.
That experience is why I built EstateMindr.
I bring calm to chaos. That's not a tagline — it's what I did for my own family, and it's what I do for every family I serve.
EstateMindr is not a law firm, a CPA practice, or a financial planning service. We don't replace your estate attorney or your accountant. We work alongside them.
What we do is take on the administrative weight that otherwise falls entirely on your shoulders:
• A personalized, step-by-step task checklist created specifically for your estate
• An immediate action roadmap — what needs to happen in the first 24 hours, the first week, the first month
• Identification and review of unclaimed funds and overlooked assets
• Deadline tracking and scheduled follow-up to keep you on track
• Coordination with your attorney, CPA, and financial planner
• Guidance through notifications to agencies, institutions, and service providers
• A personalized key contacts worksheet so nothing and no one gets missed
• Ongoing support for the full duration of the settlement process
We also work with families before a loss — helping you organize documents, gather important information, and prepare for the administrative responsibilities that will come later.
EstateMindr serves families across the United States.
"We found $15,000 they didn't know existed."
During the estate settlement process, EstateMindr identified two unclaimed fund sources the family had no knowledge of. Together they totaled more than $15,000 — money that would have gone unclaimed without a thorough, organized review of the estate.
This is exactly the kind of thing that falls through the cracks when there is no one systematically guiding the process.
Wondering if there are unclaimed funds in your loved one's estate? This is one of the first things we look at together.
